Minuta es una reflexión sobre la burocracia y la tensión entre los acuerdos de palabra y los acuerdos de papel. Desde 2019, Salcedo ha estado desarrollando cuatro películas cortas invitando a artistas a colaborar con trabajo que va desde rehacer sus performances ya existentes, plantear acciones o situaciones nuevas, hasta prestar su presencia física para determinada escena. La meta es exhibir el proceso como una sola situación de cine ampliado, repartiendo las proyecciones en diferentes espacios, por capítulos, donde se pueda ver el arte que ha participado en el proceso y generar nuevas situaciones performáticas que también sean filmadas. Querer mostrar este proceso colaborativo trajo la necesidad de legalizar el proyecto y pensarlo desde el mundo de papel: ¿Cómo pasar al mundo del derecho una serie de acuerdos de palabra? ¿Cómo señalar la situación concreta burocrática desde donde estoy planteando esta exposición?
Alejandro Salcedo
Artista graduado de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia en 2009, Master in Fine Arts (2012) y Master in Research and Arts Practice (2013) ambas de Chelsea College of Art and Design, Londres. Ha participado en exposiciones colectivas como Murmurio en Espacio El Dorado y el Museo de Arte de Pereira; El Tiempo del Fin, en el ICPNA en Lima, Perú; Mall en el Museo Tamayo en México D.F. y exposiciones individuales en galerías como Casa Riegner o Espacio El Dorado y en espacios independientes como Más Allá y En Bajada, en Bogotá. Desde el 2018 trabaja realizando películas en 8 mm en las que invita a colaborar a varios artistas de diversas prácticas. Su primera película titulada Pedaló hace parte de la colección Proyecto Bachué, Lara’s Foundation y la colección del Banco de la República.

Minutes depicts a reflection on the nuances of bureaucracy and the tension between verbal and written agreements. Since 2019, Salcedo has been creating four short films in collaboration with artists who contribute everything from reenactments of their existing performances to create new actions or scenarios, and even attending physically in specific scenes. The objective is to present the entire process as a singular, expanded cinematic experience, distributing the screenings across different venues and chapters. This setup allows viewers to engage with the art involved in the process and to witness the creation of new performative events that will also be captured on film. This drive to showcase the collaborative process required the formalization of the project and consideration of its implications within the bureaucratic sphere: How do we translate verbal agreements into legally binding documents? How do we highlight the specific bureaucratic context from which this exhibition is proposed?
About the artist
Artist graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2009, with a Masters in Fine Arts (2012) and Masters in Research and Arts Practice (2013), both from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London.
